Right Idea, Wrong Stones

Rosary made from stones related to chakra pointsThose were the words that Dorothy LeFave, jewelry designer and owner of Cleopatra's, Inc., heard one night. They helped clarify a rosary design she had dedicated to the Venerable Fr. Solanus Casey, O.F.M. Cap.

The original rosary was composed of pale color gemstones, like rose quartz, white onyx, etc. The stones dictated that night dramatically changed the whole concept, and led to the development of Cleopatra's most successful rosary to date.

Detail of chakra necklaceMore recently, a friend asked LeFave if the stones have any healing significance. Curious, she researched this and discovered that each stone (carnelian, lapis lazuli, nephrite jade, tiger eye, and hematite) corresponded to a chakra point (healing point), with the center or third decade in black onyx — a stone of universal love.

This discovery has since led to a necklace and earring design highlighting stones of the seven main chakra points.
